Following growing Environment concerns in several parts of Northern Uganda, the Board Members, Management and the Staff at the NEMA are now at Gulu city administraton to engage on a number of issues.

This is part of the familiarization visit by the Board of the National Environment Management Authority.
NEMA has undertaken a field monitoring exercise in Northern Uganda to address the concerns ranging from Noise pollution,charcol burning, Encroachment on wetlands and development of illegal structures in the city.

The field monitoring exercise which also serves as a board familiarization visit to the region, provides an opportunity for the Board to offer oversight in respect to NEMA’s four-fold mandate of regulation, supervision, coordination and monitor all aspects of the environment in Uganda.
