Tororo-Church of Uganda intervenes to defuse political and trible divisions.

Newly ordained canons and ordinands at St peters Church of Uganda in the eastern district of tororo have been urged to work towards defusing political tensions and tribal sentiments in tororo district.

this was disclosed by Rt Rev Jackson Fredrick baale,the Assistant Bishop Kampala Diocese who represented the Arch Bishop of the Church of Uganda Rt Rev Kazimba Mugalu during the installation of canons and ordinands at St Peters Church tororo.

The colorful event presided over by Rt. Rev. Samuel George Bogere Egesa,Bishop of Bukedi Diocese attracted 9 bishops of the church of Uganda.
10 ordinands were ordained as deacons in church,eight canons and four lay canons and for a clergy.

” Go and preach the gospel but fish for the church as well,go and bring Gods people back to the church” says the Head of Laity at the Church of Uganda canon Samuel wairagala.

These have been given religious instruments to provide advise to the church and help growth in ministry and also in policy with in the church.
Christians have been urged to engage in several income generating activities aimed at creating wealth and improving on their well being..
last year, similar event was held where Rt Rev. Nathan Ahimbisibwe Bishop of South Ankole Diocese presided over the Ordaining canons
At the event in 2024 31 reverend deacons were elevated to priesthood ,they were composed of 24 males and seven women clergy.
