Ruparelia Foundation restores dignity in Eastern Uganda

Working with Government doctors and other partners, the Ruparelia Foundation organised an eye camp in the eastern district of Bukedea.

This was held at Bukedea Teaching Hospital where locals continue flocking with hope of being treated.

According to Sheena Ruparelia out of those registered One thousand one hundred people have been attended.

33 percent require surgery. 12 surgeries were succesfully on children while 28 surgeries carried out on adults.

Prescription glasses have been  given to children while 200 people waiting for surgery.

Sheena Ruparelia says 400 reading glasses have been given to adults.

So far One child has been sent to the Uganda cancer institute.

The eye camp is a tribute to the late Rajive Ruparelia.

At the three day event that concludes this Sunday, Dr Sudhir Rupaleria the Chairman of the Ruparelia Foundation gifted a wheel chair to a 104 year old Amoding Esther.
In return she also prayed for chairman to live for many years
