Makerere University lifts ban on students open campaigns.
In a bid to Promote Student Freedoms and Responsible Leadership Makerere University administration has lifted the ban on open students campaigns for leadership within the University.
This decision Was reached after extensive consultations with the Students and their leaders as the University continues to Promote Student Freedoms and Responsible Leadership.
According to Makerere University Vice Chancellor professor Barnabas Nawangwe the decision reflects the Universities continued commitment to empower and nurture responsible future leaders.
“the University recently made the decision to reinstate open guild campaigns, which had previously been suspended following the tragic loss of e student during campaign activities” he says
Nawangwe says Makerere University continues to make deliberate and progressive efforts to enhance student freedoms and participation in leadership.
