Government okays recruitment of workers at Districts- PS Local Government.

In a bid to increase service delivery, the Government has paved way for the recruitment of some of the essential staff at the districts.
These comprise the District Health officers and Districts Education officers .
This was disclosed by Benjamin Kumumanya, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Local Government during the closing ceremony of the 15 day retreat of district  accounting officers that has been ongoing at the National Leadership Institute kyankwanzi.
In his 10 point address to the accounting officers at the retreat organized by the Ministry of Local Government Benjamin Kumumanya says the district accounting officers have been empowerd with various skills to improve efficiency.
In the the twelve points  he urged the Chief Administrative Officers to recruit  workers to close the gap “you can’twork alone,you need staff to work with to serve the people”
Fighting corruption ,increasing revenue collection, improving Health ,Education, providing extention services.
They have also been told to take action against district workers who are not  efficient in delivering services,transforming from beuraucracy and recognising active workers at Districts.
They have also been advised to work with other government stake holders like  RDCs ,report government programs to the public through periodic communications through the media and always refer challenges to relevant Commisioners who have the responsibility of handling challenges in regards to different  tasks at districts.

The Director of the National Leadership Institute kyankwanzi Col Okei Rukogota says serving the country needs commitment and resilience.He Applouded the trainees(District accounting officers) for having faith in the Nations leadership by supporting the good work of H.E the President of the republic of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the Chief of Defense forces Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
