The Minister of Water and Environment is urging members of the public of have erected structures or living in wetlands to start preparing to vaccate as preparations are underway for rampant evictilns in a bid to restore degraded areas.
This was disclosed by Beatrice Anywar as she inogugurated the 9th Board of Directors of NEMA following their approval by Cabinet.
The Board plays a pivotal role in providing strategic oversight and policy guidance to NEMA, ensuring the implementation of Uganda’s environmental laws and regulations.

Minister Anywar has directed NEMA to resume restoration activities in all wetlands across the country.

The Board is appointed by the Minister for Water and Environment with the approval of cabinet for a three-year term. Following the end of the tenure of the 8th Board, the Minister with approval of the cabinet has appointed the 9th Board whose term has now commenced.
