He was speaking at celebrations, marking 10 years of Mushana Multipurpose Cooperative Sacco.

Members of Mushana Multipurpose Cooperative Sacco gathered to celebrate a decade of shared vision, discipline, and economic empowerment.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of State for Cooperatives, Fredrick Ngobi Gume, praised members for choosing cooperation over individualism, noting that it spurs development.
The Minister applauded Mushana for its compliance with cooperative laws, describing it as a model cooperative that the government can rely on to drive economic transformation.
The Chairperson of Mushana Multipurpose Cooperative Sacco traced the society’s journey currently valued at over 30 billion shillings.
Currently boasting nearly 2,000 members, the Sacco has expanded into agriculture, owning a 97-acre farm in Nakasongola, while supporting surrounding communities.
Looking ahead, the cooperative plans to embrace digital financial services, expand investments, and is working toward the establishment of a fully-fledged bank by 2026. The Sacco also announced a new investment in the education sector, starting with a primary school in Kyanja.
