The European Union has committed to work with the government towards the rehabilitation of the Nalubale Hydro power station in the eastern district of jinja.
This was disclosed by the European union Ambasador to Uganda Jan Sadek as he hosted hundreds of degnitaries who turned up at his residence in honour of uganda and EU friendship where government was represented by Hon. Mwebesa Francis the current Minister of Trade Industry and cooperatives .
The urgent need for rehabilitation is driven by several deficiencies ranging from structural to infrastructure and reduced operational capacity.
The Ambasadors remarks comes ahead of todays uganda and European Union business forum hosted by the European union,Government of uganda and partners.
The Grant of 10 million Euros from the European Union through the European Investment Bank ,was approved, to rehabilitate the 380 Mega Watt Nalubaale-Kiira Hydropower stations.
