Church of Uganda confirm readiness to Host thousands of Christian pilgrims at Namugongo Anglican Site

National celebration scheduled for 3rd June 2025 at Namugongo Anglican Martyrs Site.
According to the Chairman of the Northern Uganda Regional Cluster, the Rt Rev. Godfrey Loum, has confirmed that preparations for the 2025 Uganda Martyrs Day celebrations are going on well though the organisers are financially constrained.
Over 2.2 billion shillings is needed to cover the on going  activities being undertaken by various service providers.
The Cluster, which comprises of the Dioceses of Northern Uganda, Lango, West Lango, Madi-West Nile, Kitgum, and Nebbi, is leading the organization of the National celebration scheduled for 3rd June 2025 at Namugongo Anglican Martyrs Site.
The main celebrant will be the  Most Rev Dr Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu,the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda while the main preacher for this year’s event will be the Rt Rev. Henry Luke Orombi, the retired Archbishop of the Church of Uganda.
President of Uganda, H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has confirmed attendance.
