Following a prolonged legal battle over the constructing of the multi-billion, multi-story Mothers’ Union House.

The high court has arbitrated over the dispute related to exaggerated figures which mothers union refused to pay.

The Contractor Bucon construction wanted over one billion shillings for the work done, however the contractor took over the building and went to court after mothers union claimed the contractors work was valued at four hundred million shillings.

After a peaceful engagement guided by Justice Simon Peter Kinobe Mutegeki of the civil division of the high court, mothers union has agreed to pay the contractor five hundred million shillings while the contractor also agreed to free the building and allow the construction to resume.

Bucon construction went to court and sued mothers union for failing to pay him moneys spent for the construction of the initial phase of the building.

The would be eight story structure has faced various funding and management delays especially after the current administration headed by Nalongo Roseline Biingi Kawiso together with the executive supported by Christians carried out a  forensic audit over how Shs12b was spent.

Speaking at a thanks giving prayer at the construction site, Nalongo Roseline Biingi Kawiso the President Mothers Union  says after completion, the building is expected to generate sustainable income, support families, and host community programs.
