Following the growing trend of ordinary citizens taking bold steps in speaking out what affects them in their day today lives,Academicians have come out to start engaging communities on how best they can be help to transform their lives.

This was disclosed by the Deputy Vice Chancellor at Makerere University Professor Sarah Ssali as she presided over the first professional inaugural lecture at Makerere University Business School (Mubs).
The lecture represents the scholarship footprint of a professors years of research teachings mentorship and service presented as a contribution to knowledge and society.
Research by Academicians at the universities is relevant to the economy but has done less to solve various problems in society.
Today’s inaugural lecture featured Prof. Janat Kyogabirwe Bagorogoza and Prof. Sheila Namagembe.


The Principal Makerere University business school Prof Moses Muhwezi says they are now engaging members of the society starting with the business community irrespective of their academic status to have a conversation on how academicians can actively participate in the positive growth of society.
