Uganda takes over leadership of the African Institute for Capacity Development (AICAD).

Ugandas permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education and Sports Dr Kedrace Turyagyenda has taken over leadership of the African Institute for Capacity Development (AICAD).

This is a regional international organization jointly funded by the Governments of Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania, and Uganda.
She will ran the rotational leadership for a period of two years after taking over from the United Republic of Tanzania.
The core mission of AICAD is to contribute to wealth creation in Africa by strengthening human capacity through training, research, and knowledge sharing.

Its headquarters are located at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) in Nairobi, Kenya.

AICAD also operates country offices in each member state: in Kenya, the office is based at Egerton University in Njoro, Nakuru; in the United Republic of Tanzania, the office is located at Sokoine University of Agriculture in Morogoro; and in Uganda, it is hosted at Makerere University in Kampala.
The colourful hand over ceremony was executed by Executive director AICAD Prof. James Njiru at the Grand Imperial Hotel in Kampala.
