The Permanent Secretary Ministry of local Government has Warned Teachers’ against Strikes.

Ben Kumumanya, the PS for Local Government, has cautioned teachers against resorting to industrial strikes, saying such actions affect the performance of the students.

The PS urged Education Officers to guide teachers to seek dialogue and lawful channels instead of abandoning classrooms, especially in the third term when students need their teachers most. “Industrial action at such a critical time is not good and it is not in line with the Constitution,” he said

The PS was addressing District, /Municipal Council Education, and Health Officers in a one-day meeting that is taking place at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala.

Mr Ben Kumumanya has highlighted the critical role of ethics and professionalism in public service.

He has pointed out that, under the Public Service Act, 2008, officers are expected to remain loyal to the Government, provide impartial advice, and perform their duties with transparency and accountability.
